Kershaw County, SC (WOLO) — Just before 5pm Thursday night the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office took three people into custody after they say they spotted a stolen Dodge Charger driving along Highway 601 in Lugoff. Deputies say they turned on their blue lights to stop the car but the driver refused to pull over leading police to chase the vehicle.
Authorities say the suspects inside the car continue to flee from police by exiting off Highway 601 where deputies say they tried to hide the car behind a house but were spotted by an off duty Elgin Police Officer. Officials say three occupants ran from the car but were tracked down by a K9 officer 5 minutes later.
Deputies say one of the suspects was a 17 year old juvenile, the other two were adults all of whom were taken into custody. KCSO says the driver of the stolen car has a gun in his pocket when he was located by officers. No injuries were reported.
